[LBo] howto on remote controls for linux multimedia

The Group,

Back when I still had windows installed on my machine I had bought a
SnapStream firefly remote control to use with my computer. This was a
very nice remote and worked well with the media applications I used.
Now that I am 100% linux I am again wanting this functionality. I just
need something that I can setup to work with xine and maybe start
fiddling with mythTV. I'm looking for a new remote and a good
explanation on how to set it up with lirc. Can someone point me to some
howto's and other informative sites or forums. I know of lirc's website
but was hoping for some more resources. Thanks for any responses, and
let me know if I should be more informative with my inquiry.
