There's also a Thunderbird extension "Allow HTML temporary"
<https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/1556/> that "allows to have HTML
temporary enabled/allowed in the selected message by only one click."

I use Thunderbird, but haven't tried that particular extension.
