I think we should concentrate on this one first, because having Linux 
connected to the internet will make many things easier for you (like 
being able to copy error-messages straight into your mails to the list :)

Anitas questions are good, but if that is too much for you, we _need_ to 
know if you have WLAN or a regular Cat5 cable running from your PC to 
your router.

Also, you should tell us, the settings you use in windows to connect to 
the Network, specifically the ip-address, the netmask, the default-route 
and the DNS-server. These are in the windows-network-settings. (Empty 
settings are also a valuable information)

Let's get this working,
