Anita,

It is with egg on my face that I thank you for explaining how to change 
root's password.  I completely forgot the command passwd and discussed a 
method when root's password is totally forgotten, not how to change a known 
root's password to something else.

I'm thinking that there is too much to remember with Linux, and my memory 
is not what it used to be.
