[LBo] nForce Onboard-LAN doesn't work

I found the thread discussing the nforce lan problem.

I have a Gigabyte GA-K8N51PVMT-9 board and I have this cold reboot 
situation. I have to shut down the computer after a windows boot, turn 
off the switch behind the computer, press the start button to >empty< 
all residual power left in the machine (that saves me waiting 20 
seconds), turn on the switch at the back, and then restart the 
computer.  Lan will then work.  Otherwise, with a warm reboot:  NO LAN 
WHATSOEVER in Linux.

And I wonder if Lynn problem might not be that kind of thing, as she 
runs Windows too.  But I do not know what hardware she has. 

Just a thought.
