[LBo] Firefox + "Akamai"

Hi,

I have up until now been using Konqueror + Mozilla as browsers.

Last week I d/loaded Firefox 1.5.02 to try out: - when I run it I get 
connections to 84.53.142.* in "active connections" in Firestarter.
I thought I had picked up something - but a "whois" shows it as Akamai 
Technologies - and google shows them as providing " acceleration for 
web-based apps".

1] Have I picked up something or is this some sort of firefox " tracker" ?
 - I don't get these "active connections" with Konqueror.

2] I have set up a Firestarter "Outbound Traffic Policy" to "deny connection 
to host" 84.53.142.0-84.53.142.255, yet Firestarter still lets thru a 
connection to this host network?
  am I missing a setting somewhere?
