I understand what you want it to do. I will open Window Maker tomorrow
and try to find an answer. But popping up the existing xterm from the
applications menu won't work. That's just not how it was designed. But
there is an easier way. In most setups this involves a middle-click
(or if no middle mouse button then both buttons at the same time) on
the desktop. This brings up the "Windows" menu of applications that
are running. Simply click on the application you want to bring to the
forefront. There is a keyboard shortcut for the Windows menu.
What is neat is after you bring up the Windows menu and click on its
title bar you can click and hold your mouse at the very top of it.
Then drag to the very bottom of the screen and let go. You should see
just the very edge of the top of the menu. Now when you hover your
mouse over it, the menu rises onto the screen. From there you can
bring to the front any application.
The above menu method works for the main menu or any of the submenus.
