[LBo] Install

Hi, my name is Joseph and I'm new to Linux and kinda new to IT in general.
My current job description is " Data center technician". Starting Monday I
will be moving departments to work with the Server Admin's. Pretty
stressfull times as I have to learn Linux/Unix within 2-3 weeks. My new
tasks will involve server kicking which is a complete mystery to me! Also, I
do have an old Dell PC (2000) that I would like to install Linux on but am
not sure how! I was told VMWare is good but wouldlike to try a new install
by myself! Any advice would be appreciated.
