Stefan,

Thanks for all the info. I will have to digest all of that and get back
to you with the results.

> PS: Why should ProFTP in ClarkConnect be more secure than plain ProFTP?

Not saying it will be any more secure, but this is where I started and
it has all worked really well up to the point where I wanted to setup
FTP with login access only. The reason I have been using ClarkConnect is
for content filtering. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed and it
came pretty much ready to roll, straight out of the box. I have 13 year
old twins and I have been looking for a means to better manage what they
have access to. ClarkConnect came bundled with Dan's Guardian and Squid
as well as many other tools.

Now all of that is not to say that it is better than any other distro
but it provides me with a lot and was easily and quickly configured and
I have learned a lot from it by just tinkering around to see how it all
works together. I have other machines behind the CC with various other
distros on them as well as a few XP boxes. My boys machines are one
Linux Dual boot (Kubuntu & SimplyMEPIS) and one WinXP Pro. This way they
have access to both worlds and can do direct comparisons. I just wish I
had matching hardware so they could see first hand what differences
there are between the various operating systems and applications, but
for now this will have to do.

thanks again
Tim
