[LBo] By Way of Introduction

Thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself, as requested.

My name is Dan Ford, and I live in a small town in Northwestern Pennsylvania
called Corry. I've been working with computers since I was programmingt in
BASIC on a Wang workstation in High School. My first computer was an Atari 64,
way back when. I have been marveling at computers since a friend of mine played
6 seconds of Van Halen on his brand new Atari 1024 on the then-new 3.5-inch
floppies.

Yeah, I'm THAT old! ;)

Now, I have three desktops at home, and a laptop, and I am an eager - but almost
completely brand new - Ubuntu Linux 6.06 user. I'm looking forward to the class
starting next week, and I hope to be able to use my newfound Linux skills to
help others recapture their computers! Someday - soon? - I'd like to go 100%
Linux.

In my "day job," I work with databases and programming, and I am seriously
contemplating starting my own consulting business to put my skills to good use.
I love computers, programming, databases, Web design, philosophy, Russian,
history, and literature - and not necessarily in that order.

I, too, am looking forward to the class, and meeting new friends online. Give me
