[LBo] Introduction...

Greetings from Minnesota!

Hi... I am Conal.  Curious as to how the mailing list class is going to work
also.

I've been using computers since around 1978 when my math teacher had a
teletype tied in to TIES.  My first machine was an original IBM 5slot
wonderbeast with the Gates maximum of 640k of ram and 2 5 1/4 floppies and a
300/1200 Dataphone modem.  I've had various machines since then, but the
last 14 years has been some sort of Mac, Linux and BSD varieties.  Currently
run Mac OS (dual 2.0 G5 and on a TiBook), Ubuntu on an older G3 and Ubuntu
(PC Laptop) on a laptop that was crawling (crippled) under WinXP (now it
really flies!).

I consider myself an intermediate user and would like to get a "formal"
class in the dark side of Linux so I may be more of an advocate.  There is
always room for improvement and the more I know the more I can share with
others and get them away from the M$ opression.  I've always been a command
line type of guy and really enjoy opening up the terminal and poking around,
hence playing around with OSX and Linux varieties.  Been afraid to really
dig in and and really see what's under the hood.
