Hello this is my introduction.

I'm a 67 yo Aussie presently on a long holiday in Thailand. I've
programmed computers since 1975 time sharing Basic via 300 baud
acoustic coupler. Worked at it professionally for some years before I
retired.

I have been running Linux since Mandrake 8.2. I have to say I am
grateful to Microsoft for Windows 98 it provided all of the incentive
I needed to move onto Linux fully. I never was a user of Win XP on my
own machine but I have installed it enough for others to wonder why
the small computer assemblers bother with it. Linux is far easier.

I won't take the course this time around because I am stuck using Win
in internet cafes for the time being. I look forward to getting and
giving much from this list.

Bob
