I guess while I am at it I should say "Hi"

I have dabbled with Linux since going back to school in 2000. RedHat,
Suse, Mandrake, Knoppix, Debian, Libranet, slack, Ham Hack, DSL, and
currently CENTOS, Kubuntu, SimplyMEPIS, ClarkConnect, and most recently
TrixBox. I have been involved in computers since the time of the
Timex/Sinclair and have been a COBOL/Command Level CICS programmer, a
Network Administrator (on a very small scale), and various other things
in the world of computers. I am a Ham radio enthusiast and involved in
emergency management in both professional and personal life. I maintain
the network and radio equipment at work and I am the DEC/EC for my
county and region as well as the RACES officer for my county. I know the
acronyms don't do much for the rest of you but the Ham guys should know
what I am talking about. I am not a Master of anything and I know just
enough to be dangerous so I guess the reason I hang around the list and
irc are to pick up tidbits of information and hopefully clues to other
problems I may encounter. I have been tossed the "RTFM" line so many
times in other venues that I find it better most of the time to be
patient and keep reading as I can. Unfortunately my vision does not
allow me to read for extended periods of time so novels are not my cup
of tea. I will gladly answer questions I feel I am qualified to answer
and will gladly bow out when a more knowledgeable individual steps in
[this way I have both hands free to take notes .. ;-)]

Looks like this should be an interesting group. Glad to see the list
this active.

Tim
