I'm running Ubuntu 6.06. Am running the KDE Desktop though. Other
details in next answers.

I managed to create a new user. However that user is using vanilla
Ubuntu with the stock Gnome desktop. How ever I do have a screen saver
that works. Haven't seen it go to a blank screen yet.

Well at least I have a functioning screen saver now. And I had to figure
the ins/outs of setting up another user. And I needed to do that to
safely run Xastir which is currently being set up on the other user
account. Oh well, seems that no matter what I do I some how manage to
screw up and learn things. Damn, I bet I'm jeopardizing my membership in
the "Manuals, we don't need no stinking manuals" club. Next thing you
know I will be consulting road maps :-P . Thanks for your help so far
Sam. With yours and others help/suggestions I will get this puppy
whipped into shape.
