[LBo] adept update under kubuntu

Hello,
after a little research, it looks like kubuntu uses the adept update 
manager, as opposed to the synaptic program manager as recommended on the 
list. (at least that's what I'm finding) I went through and selected a bunch 
of packages to install, update including the flash plugin. it is now froze 
on the flash plugin at 55%. can I shut down the update manager without 
wrecking things, and if I do will I have to go through the list again 
tomorrow, or will it pick back up where it was?
