I think I can answer that Lonnie. Yeah had done a number of updates & 
added programs. Still pretty much a Vanilla Ubuntu with the exception of 
adding the KDE desktop. But no major changes immediatly around the time 
I resized the desk top and lost my screen savers.  And with the new user 
its back to a  gnome desktop. 
Though I'm looking forward to the release of the new version of Ubuntu. 
Going to try that and see how badly I can bugger my system :{<
