My brother-in-law had problems with his laptop. He said it would blank
out on him every once in a while. If he switched it back on right away,
it would crash again right away. If he left it off for 30 minutes, he
could work with it again.
The problem here was that he used the laptop often on soft surfaces
(like a piano-bench if fron of the sofa...). The soft surface would
block all heat-exchange. Since he uses hard surfaces to support his
laptopn, the thing works flawlessly.
So: fresh air is good for your PC, although I don't endors any product
:) (you could also use two wooden blocks to get more air under the laptop)
