I have studied Machtelt Garrels' book on my own. Have also recently
begun Rute, and am a quarter of the way into it.

Ms. Garrels' book deals mainly or
exclusively with the CLI. This is very much to my liking, but Rute
does have the advantage of being broader. In any case, a broader
grounding in Linux, beyond the CLI, would be nice to have, and it is
a long term question of how to acquire or provide it in a structured
way.

Ms. Garrels' book is pretty clear, and the exercises are very useful.
One way of 'wikiing' it, by the way, in the spirit of what Stefan
suggested, would be to provide an answer
key. Personally, I wasn't able to figure out more than, say,
two-thirds of the answers the first time around. A wiki?
I would find it useful to go through the Garrels book a second time,
as it certainly
has more than one reading can handle. And the group study will enrich
the experience.

Thanks a million for this great initiative. Can't wait to start.
