[LBo] uninstall OS

Hi 

I currently use ubuntu linux on my system dual booted on separate HDD with WinXP, but I would like to try out some other Linux distros.  To avoid filling up my hdd, I would install one linux at a time in addition to ubuntu.  How would I remove the other distros cleanly from my system when i am finished with them, without leaving a load of duplicated files all over my fs?
