Hello,
Trying to Lower my MTU to 546

why?

1. Because my ISP said to do so, when I asked for advice re: attaching
files (small ones to emails.)

2. I cannot send a file over my 'Gaim' messenger
I run a dial up connection, 33600-bps modem
Ubuntu 6.06 LTS

My connection is nice, clean stable, reliable, in fact I even like it.
Excepting of course it is limited by not allowing me to send files, x
email or messenger. The connection reliably runs 52 to 55k in my other
pc with its own modem.
I believe I tweaked the xp partion to deal with this same issue, but
dont know how to do it in linux.
My linux box is currently restricted by the 33.6k modem I have on it.
Yes I know the modem is a restriction, but be it that its not broken,
and its my settings thats making uploads impossible.

regards, Richard.
