Well, in spite of your disclaimer, I respectfully perceive that I got
dished an RTFM answer.
The difficulty here is not each software in itself (and their excellent
documentation), but the integration of each of them together (how nice
they play with each other). There is little documentation that goes:
"but when you install on Debian, keep in mind that the maintainers have
already preconfigured some files for you, which in turn will affect our
instructions on page 5 of the blog software you might wish to install.
However, with Ubuntu, the sudo commands will create problems of their
own when you follow the same instructions. Also, remember that anything
under version 4.3.01 will behave differently with such-and-such
configuration files than subsequent mysql version (available on Ubuntu,
Debian testing and unstable, but not on Debian stable)". I wish they
would, but they don't. You have to dig everywhere to discover that.
However, I will keep your link in mind, as I could indeed find gems in
that fine documentation.
Cheers,
Jisao
