I had to look that one up in my French dictionary, because it didn't 
sound familiar.

iso- is a prefix for science words that indicated equality.  eg: 
isocèle (triangle with two equal sides), isomère, isomorphe, isotherme, 
isotope.

I'm pretty sure variations of these words in English also use iso-, but 
I'm not sure right now.

Thanks for the info on ISO.  I had never made the connection between the 
disc image and the organiztion that gives out ISO certifications.
