Hello Greg,

I had a Broadcom Wireless card on my new laptop. It is Broadcom Corporation
Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-PCI Card (rev 01). 2.6.22 has better support for
it but you need firmware installed with firmware cutter in order to install
and run it. The work around solution is running ndsiwrapper and configruing
wlan0 interface.

I installed windows drivers with ndiswrapper and it worked.

If you want an out of the box solution you may try sabayon linux. It has both
Ndiswrapper and kernel drivers of most wifi cards.
