This is what I found Howard. Installing Opensuse 10.2 over SUSE Linux
10.0 was impossible, I now think it had to do with the mount/umount
problems I had.

For other reasons :), I had to reinstall XP I then, installed Opensuse
10.2 which I bought online from a dealer. I decided to install both KDE
and GNOME, as Evolution mail is my favourite. I made sure that all
dependencies were ok.

I found that my computer was getting soo hot, the fan was going full
throttle, I had never experienced such heat before. I then checked the
Process Table and found one of the culprits 'beagle'

I'm on Opensuse mail list, and saw that people complained that beagle
was causing major grief. When I 'killed' it, the cpu went back to
relative normality, but I still had overheating problems.

Evolution mail would constantly crash, or freeze. I reboot, crash,
freeze! Finally, one time I had to do a manually shutdown, and when I
rebooted I had a black screen and a flashing cursor.

Now I couldn't boot into either system and I didn't have the know-how
what I should do next, as I couldn't get on line.

This time I decided to be very careful and only installed KDE. When
everything was set up, I installed Evolution mail from the CD and at the
moment everything is fine.

During one of the many re-installs, I got this: Sector 1295808 is
broken. I did google, but came up with nothing.

Also do not use Knetworkmanager, it just doesn't work. Stay with
Kinternet. What I like most about Opensuse 10.2, no problems with CD's
mount/umount I just insert and they play as the should :)

HTH.
