Hi Allen and all,
I just built a new kernel for my Gentoo box this morning, and I did
notice that there were Many options for various USB type attachments for
the kernel modules. It could be that that particular module has not
been compiled for your system.
Not sure that this is the cure for your issue, but would certainly be a
place to look.
