[LBo] Configuring Exim4 with Gmail...

I'm attempting to configure Exim4 installed on Debian 3.1r4 to use Gmail
as a smarthost. Here's the FAQ I've followed:

http://wiki.debian.org/GmailAndExim4

Here's my problem. I've done all as told, but all mail is rejected
because my "username at localhost" isn't being turned into
"jimrob at gmail.com" as it should after following this bit:

====

Add your outgoing email-address to the /etc/exim4/email-addresses

# echo 'YOUR-USER-NAME at LocalHost: yourAccountName at gmail.com' >>
/etc/exim4/email-addresses

====

I've checked the file, and it does indeed contain that bit.

====

This is /etc/email-addresses. It is part of the exim package
#
# This file contains email addresses to use for outgoing mail. Any local
# part not in here will be qualified by the system domain as normal.
#
# It should contain lines of the form:
#
#user: someone at isp.com
#otheruser: someoneelse at anotherisp.com

w0jrm at localhost : cedirs at gmail.com

===

Any ideas? I'm stuck. The only thing I've noticed is that the steps
list the file as being in /etc/exim4, while on my drive they're located
in /etc where Debian installed them. On a hunch, I tried cp-ing the
files to the exim4 directory, but it didn't help.
