If you have no strong reason to use RH9, I would recommend to use a 
current distribution.

If you need/want to have RedHat but don't want to pay, download the 
current Fedora, which is the free version of RedHat.

Old versions of any distribution will cause you more trouble than 
neccessary. Even if you have the CDs "laying around".
