Stefan's advice:

A list of Linux-Distributions is available here
http://linuxbasics.org/links/distros/getting_linux
and
http://linuxbasics.org/links/distros/official_sites

would be the place to start. RHEL is not free, but they offer Fedora as
their community supported version. Keep in mind that it doesn't offer
long term support as some other distributions do.
