I have a similar situation at work with Lotus Notes. I want to save all
my emails, but the company policy says that inbox must not exeed 600 MB.
So twice a year I do archive 3 months older emails and free space for
the inbox.
The archiving process moves emails to a separate file on my local hard
drive. I usually copy it on to a DVD and save it in my DVD wallet. It is
now possible to open the archive file with any computer providing that
Lotus Notes is installed and security issues are OK.
I have tried to find this feature in Evolution, but not found. On the
other hand my home email traffic is not that lively. It takes years to
really need the function.
All the best
