The Nvidia driver package has a multitude of distro support. I believe
that RHE 4.4 and CentOS 4.4 are the same. I chose the .ko from this rpm.
The Nvidia package is for 2.6.9-42.EL
I decided not to wait till Monday morning and tried installing just now.
I dutifully typed "linux dd" and got asked for my driver file. It
absolutely refuses to accept this sata_nv.ko driver.
I checked another system installed from this same disk. As you said I
would, I found the sata_nv.ko driver buried a few dirs lower in
/lib/modules/ Both 2.6.9-42.EL and 2.6.9-42.0.3.EL are there -- both fail.

Thanks - hadn't seen that.

When I tried FC6 on this MB, I could not get the onboard lan to work --
again a chipset problem. I just installed an old PCI card to solve that
problem. Ubuntu Edgy -- hmmmm. I wanted to preserve the FC structure and
not change to much but I did want more stability than FC offers. Do you
think I can migrate my apps: MySQL, PHPbb2, vm-pop3d, Postfix,
Openwebmail being the important ones?
I won't trash this board because FC5 does work but ....
Thanks again.
