I found this howto on some college's website.  It's for IceWeasel and 
IceDove, but it works for Firefox and Thunderbird as well.  Just 
remember that Iceweasel = Firefox and Icedove = Thunderbird. (For those 
of you that don't know, Iceweasel is Firefox minus trademarked branding 
and Icedove is Thunderbird minus trademarked branding.)
