[LBo] lap top issues

Thanks to everyone for their support.  I tried re-installing the drivers by
going to the command line and typing cd\ + Enter, sfc /scannow + Enter, but
I still have the same problem - not everything I type appears on the
screen.  I also ran a complete virus scan using AVG, and no viruses.
Something else that is peculiar; when looking at 'system properties' (start,
control panel, system, general tab) the speed of my processor changes (one
time it's 918 mhz, the next time, 1.39 Ghz, the enxt 653 mhz).  Also on this
screen my RAM is listed at 480 MB, and I know I have 2 sticks of 258 in this
laptop.  When I look at the system information (start, all programs,
accessories, system tools, system information), I'm told the total physical
memory is 1,536 MB.  Does this sound right?  Any other ideas?

Could it be that you caught a virus and your system is too busy to catch
