Run 'free' to see if you have any swap.
I assume my swap is working because using the free command shows the swap
total at 546168, with 31480 used and 514688 free.
Check /etc/fstab to see how swap partition is labeled. Change to sd
Here is the results when I run cat /etc/fstab
# /dev/sdb1
UUID=xx-xxx-xxxxx none swap sw 0 0
I googled UUID and found that it stand for Universally Unique Identifier.
To translate this into terms I can understand, is the UUID just a unique
number, assigned to the HD in this instance, for communicating with the
kernel?
I think the swap drive has the desired label of sdb1, right?

Run upgrade:

Because the free command shows the swap file is working, and swap drive is
labeled as sdb1, I did not complete the steps listed above, but should I?
Another point of interest is when running the free command, 344224 of 417488
of the memory is used. My guess is Xubuntu 7.04 is a bit heavy for this old
machine. Would this be right?
Thanks,
