[LBo] New xubuntu user still has no net connection

You gave us a link to your posts at Ubuntu and I looked at it.  I then
copied what you had written in the post at the top of page 2 above.  The
last item in System -> Administration -> Network was Automatic Service
Discover which was unchecked.
