There could definitely be a performance difference with the beta,
because it is a test version.  However, I am pretty sure that updating
the beta version would bring you up to the final release and beyond to
the present since the beta should have the same repositories listed as
the final release.

Did you do the update previously or just now?  Is there any improvement
in speed?
