Ah yes, the real truth comes out, finally. :-D
Some of the lighter weight laptops are of the highest quality, but
chances are, you would be paying in the $2000 range for a real good one.
I don't NEED a laptop either, never have needed one, but I do have one,
and if things go well, will have one or two more before the year gets
much older.
Take your copy of KNOPPIX to the store and see if they will let you play
with one or two of the models that really catch your eye.
