Well first I thought that "Hybrid Intrusion Detection System" ws the name of a 
specific piece of software. Then after a little searching I read this article:

I don't know if you are a business or an individual, but I would suggest you 
take a look at IPCop perhaps it would satisfy your security needs. It requires a 
separate computer used as a dedicated firewall/router.
