If, like I do, you have to work in Windoze mostly but you want 
you Linux there when you need it, you mostly need the machine to 
default to the M(e)S(s) OS.

The instructions for setting this in GRUB is to start counting at 
zero, see what the line number is for Windoze and then enter it 
in grub.conf. Well, what they fail to tell you is that the line 
that says something like "Other OSes" that comes before the MS OS 
also counts! So instead of it being #3 on my machine, it is #4.

This is true for Xubuntu and a couple of others I have run into 
but it is not universal so YMMV.
