Mine is deleted from the Inbox when I am returned to it.  I do not know
why yours is not.  I am using Thunderbird 1.5.0.14pre. I have Buttons!
0.5.2.

I see where the author fixed a bug where the Delete! did not work
properly in a window: http://www.chuonthis.com/extensions/buttons.php#bugs

Maybe you can find something on this there or contact the author.  There
