The bottom line is... the encryption key can persist in memory under extreme 
situations... Some one has to really, really want to know what your up to 
before this is a real problem.

That said... just turn the damn thing off when you are done working with it... 
Sleep mode, hibernate mode, disk encryption and sensitive data NEVER go hand 
in hand....
