Hi David,
Was wondering what wifi card you have?

I have an old amd duron800 box that i use to "test" different distros.
It has an air-plus D-Link card [- which is an "atheros" chip + runs with
the "madwifi" driver].
Using Debian, Ubuntu and Slackware, I have had to install and configure
madwifi myself to get the card working.

However, I recently tried PCLinuxOs and this seemed to recognise the wifi card
on installation of PCLinuxOs and [ if I remember correctly ] installed a
driver using ndiswrapper. Certainly, this was the first distro where the wifi
worked "out of the box" - I was quite impressed!
HTH,
Geoff.
