That is a good question. And a fine example of the virtues of open
source: We can all check, and even fix the malfunction.

I do not consider this a bug, BTW. It is an overflow. While the
data-type is fully functional (representing the data correctly), it is
simply getting too small. The Y2K-bug was due to a faulty representation
of the data-type.
