I first saw the issue with a long-running instance, but then new instances
created by the same user all have the same issue.
I tried to add a new user and start a new vnc instance as the new user, the
vnc works well. So I guessing the problem is caused by some config files of
gnome in user's home directory. I copied the folder ".gnome2" from new
user's home directory to the home directory of the user who is suffering.
Voila! The problem is gone!
Thanks!
